The Presence & Language of Teaching Yoga

Have you ever left a yoga class feeling like that was the best class ever but didn’t really know why? Was it the sequence, music, teacher, or the space? All of the above!

How we show up for our students sets the tone for the entire class. How we hold ourselves, set the room up, and communicate determines the feeling of the class we teach and the impact it has on our students. Even with a simple sequence, we can teach a memorable class by setting the tone with our presence and speech. In this workshop, you’ll learn tools to do just that.

Topics we’ll cover:

  • Finding your unique voice and building confidence

  • Creating a safe and welcoming container for your students

  • How to use music to enhance your class

  • The importance of words, what you say and don’t say, and how you say it

  • The difference between empowering and disempowering language

  • How to pinpoint your filler words

  • Creating a theme for class

  • How to teach without notes and why it matters

Whether you’re an aspiring teacher or have been teaching for years this workshop will help you fine tune your teaching skills. This workshop will be part lecture, part interactive, and part practice.

In-Studio + Livestream. Recordings available for 14 days.

Cost: Prebook for $65 / $75 at the door
